If a renewal payment fails, rdev never touches your server or your code. Your environment moves to read-only mode step by step, and paying again unlocks everything at once.
Timeline

| 1–7 | Grace period. You see warnings in the web panel, the command line tool and the laptop app. |
| 8 | Read-only mode starts. |
| 8–30 | Nightly backups keep running, and you get a weekly reminder email. |
| 30 | Backups stop and you get a final email. The environment stays as it is. |
Read-only mode
In read-only mode your existing sites, services and file sync keep running. These are locked:
- adding new projects;
- changing versions;
- updating the AI agent profile;
- installing the laptop app on a new machine.
While the license is inactive, only your account, invoices and payment pages stay open in the web panel.
Paying again
As soon as the payment goes through, your license comes back and every lock is lifted. Your code and data are always yours, whatever happens to the subscription.
